We are a rural complex featuring two different types of accommodation, so that you can feel at home while enjoying the best gastronomy on the Way of St. James. Which one do you prefer?
María Varela, the owner of the establishment along with Suso Santiso, is the person in charge of creating the magic in A Parada das Bestas’s kitchen. A self-taught chef with years of experience, María is capable of bringing out the best in the local produce, combining traditional recipes with avant-garde techniques and meticulous presentation that have earned her regional and national awards.
A Parada das Bestas is located at the foot of the French Way, only 3 stages from Santiago de Compostela. From Palas de Rei, you have to turn off the main road and travel around 6.5 km to reach our house, either in taxi (for about 8 euros) or walking along a truly outstanding route.
Our accommodation establishment and our restaurant, located in 45,000 m2 of grounds, feature the perfect combination in order to recover after a hard day of trekking. Not to be missed is our “Capón de Pidre al estilo peregrino” (pilgrim-style Pidre capon), a dish that formed part of traditional pilgrim cuisine that has been revived by our chef, María Varela.
